Hyundai Teases i40 Sedan

It was an almost a month ago Hyundai showcased their i40 estate at Geneva Auto Show, Now Hyundai is taking the car to a new level by planning an i40 Sedan which will premiere at the Barcelona Motor Show on May 12.

The i40 sedan is going to be a premium mid-sizer which will fight against the BMW 5 series and Mercedes E-Class proving to be a cheaper and smarter alternative for the buyers who look beyond the ‘brand’. The unique ‘fluidic sculpture’ philosophy has flown into almost all new Hyundai cars. The i40 sedan looks like the original i40 estate from all angles but the rear symbolises the Genesis inspired design. The mid-size sedan is going to be one step ahead with best in class leg room and shoulder room and top notch European Standard interior.

“We wanted to move away from the typical three-box saloon and create a car that was in keeping with the sporty nature of the i40 estate. By sculpting a low, elongated roof line, we’ve given the i40 saloon a striking coupe-like silhouette by using very strong, fluid lines from front to rear. While the exterior of i40 saloon stands out for its fluidic form and distinctive appearance, the interior has been shaped to deliver practicality and comfort tothe driver and passengers in a high-quality package” commented Thomas Bürkle, Chief Designer at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre.
