Considering that next year in 11 cities across India the BS 4 emissions norms will come into effect, Maruti has decided not to invest capital in reworking on the Maruti 800. Instead they are working on a new car which will be showcased as a concept car at the Auto Expo next month. The new car code-named YE3 will replace the M800 and will fit in the Budget Range cars for Maruti. Only if the car is supported by the public in the Auto show will Maruti give this car a green signal.
Along with the YE3 the company is secretly working on the YR9 which is the new WagonR launch due next year. Both the YE3 and YR9 will be based on Maruti’s KB Series Mileage loving engines. Well it looks weird as Maruti has an array of hatchbacks, let that not misguide you as 65% of Maruti’s sale is from their small cars and Maruti holds 50% share in the car market.
Amazing isn’t it?
